I just finished my first mini-game with Unity. I did it as an exercise to learn the interface, workflow etc. Its very very basic, but its the idea that counts right?
If anyone is interested I will convert it into a tutorial. There seems to be a shortage of C# learning material for Unity. I will cover all the major topics: Interface, user input, particles, physics, materials, working with blender assets, GUI and custom gui styles, prefabs, to name a few…
The grass and trees are both standard unity assets, and only the grass is animated. I didn’t focus on the graphics that much.
I plan on adding different objects at some point, Ive made a handgrenade thats ready to go. I also plan to add sound, and a destroy animation/effect for the dropped coconuts on the ground.
It seems as though i can ‘ram’ into the coconuts with the side of the bucket and it still detects that i have collected them. Just a little bug but im sure you can sort that easy enough
I am aware of that one. I use a box collider inside the bucket, so the corners go through. I was just too laze to fix it I’ll make an adjustment when I update it sometime.
good job! a C# tutorial is always helpful, if u r motivated to make one then make it
in my opinion, the bucket is very fast and i found it hard to make smaller changes of the position, which often resulted in a coconut falling down. maybe it would be nice, if the bucked was a little bit slower in the beginning and had to accelerate to become this fast, it might even make the gameplay a little bit more interesting.
maybe you could also add a small graphics effect when u lose a live, at first i didn’t even notice it had any effect.
Thanks for the responses. Yes, it gets boring very quickly. I was thoroughly bored by the time I finished it :P.
I started with the tutorial, but its taking much longer than I realistically expected. Im done with the first part, which is the terrain creation. I will work on it when I have very very free time.
