Audio management like TAGs inside of Unity or external?

Dear Forum,

my Unity project will work with 200-300 audio files dedicated to music. Each file 3min-10min lenght. I want to prepare now how to stay organized with these? For example I am thinking about following traps I might run into:
a) communication with the coder: I want to use shorter, coded names for file name instead of typical composer file names like “SynthBass_bright_aminor_64bars_looped_edited_final.wav” (you know what I mean).
b) if audio files have to be replaced (different music-edit, enhanced version) the name and the tags must keep same.

Should (or: can) I do this very nicely within Unity already? Should I use an external TAG editor (Download – Mp3tag: the universal Tag Editor for Mac which costs 25€).

Of course I’d like to read more to teach myself better, if you provide sources for me to dive into.

Best Regards
Johannes
