Audio pop in 2.6 player

I have an audio loop in the app I’m developing, and after upgrading to 2.6 I’m hearing a pop at the beginning of the loop. It’s a seamless WAV file and used to play fine with 2.5 (and plays fine in all other players). Is this a known issue?

A draft of my app is at http://www.allurefx.com/Projects/Mergex/Mergex.html if you want to see (hear) what I’m talking about.

Anyone?

Nope, no pops for my audio (but I hear it in your demo). Try reimporting the sound. If all else fails, you can try a different sound to use and see if that works.

Thanks a lot for checking. The strange thing is there’s no pop in the old 2.5 player or in other audio players. The loop is 8 bit, I wonder if that has something to do with it - will investigate further.

Meanwhile, would you mind checking out the attached loop to see if you get a pop?

Yeah, looks like an 8 bit thing - please post what you find with the clip I posted. Just tried a 16 bit version, and it played fine without pops. Oh, well.

Figured it out. That click you’re hearing is from the actual sound file when it loops inside the engine. In Audacity (a high end sound editor) that click isn’t there, but in Quicktime Player the click is there when you loop it.

I don’t know of a quick way to fix it. You may have to use a higher quality sound than that one.
