Audio - Sound emit from an area rather than a single point?

Hello,

How would you make a sound emit from an entire object? At the moment when I attache a sound emitter to an obect (in this case an escalator leading to an underground tunnel) the sound emits from a single point in the middle of the object whereas I would like the sound to emit from the whole length of the escalator. I have tried increasing the minimum and maximum distances to cover the top and bottom of the escalator but this means the sound then becomes audible from above ground which is not great. Is it possible to emit a sound from an area like a tube rather than a point?

sounds can only be emited without spatial position or from a specific one as in real world too.

So the sound would emit from a single source which would happen in real life. In that case I wonder if there is a way to set some geometry as a sound barrier so the sound wouldn’t escape from the escalator shaft?
