Audio source properties should be abstracted from audio source.

I often find that I want to use the audio source properties (fall off curve, pitch, volume, etc) but play it on a different place than were the audiosource is located.

For example we simulate speed of sound in our game. If you are 500 meters away it takes over a second for the sound to reach the player by this time the audiosource might be occluded and sound will be wrong.
