AudioClip.PlayOneShot() pops on first play?

When I use AudioClip.PLayOneShot() for the first time in a scene, the sound usually does not play. I only hear a pop sound. Any succeeding calls to PLayOneShot work just fine.

Is Unity lazy loading sound assets and failing to load and play the sound quick enough? Is there a way to ensure that the sound will play properly?

Which version of Unity are you using?

As temporary fix you could play a silent clip at startup :-)
