Austin GDC

It was great to see Tom and Sam at the Austin Game Developers conference this week! They were demo’ing version 2, and of course it rocks. I did my best to help spread the Unity meme, and there seemed to be a lot of interest. There were lots of indies and DIYers as well as the big console and pc game companies, which made for an interesting dynamic.

Hey polytropoi,

I attended the conference as well and enjoyed reading your blog post. The new version of the Unity engine seemed like a very complete product and we can’t wait to get our hands on it either!

Matt

Ah man that was a great conference! It was great to meet folks that came by our booth and we had a TON of traffic stopping by to learn about Unity. Not only were Sam and I there working the booth but we had a guest developer (and forum lurker) there with us, Jon Frisby, showing off a game he’s about to publish (he dropped Torque, picked up Unity and is a week and a half away from shipping - all in under 3 months!). I think we ALL did a great job spreading the word about Unity, thanks for your extra help!

w00t!

Edit: and I’m sorry to report that we did not make it out to your recommended spot (the springs). By Friday night, after packing up the booth and all, Sam and I were flat out beat. Done. Finished. We managed to eat some dinner and crash out sleeping, managing enough sleep before getting up in the wee hours of Saturday morning for our flights home.
