Hi guys. My previus thread got deleted because they thought the solution had been posted, but none of the solutions posted around is working for me.
I have a big problem at one of our installations. 4 computers placed in a shopping mall is using the latest Google Chrome with the latest Unity webplayer (as of 08/04/13). Also tried IE browser.
The “auto-update failed” error as many have encountered won’t go away. It says that it cannot download the following file: http://webplayer.unity3d.com/Channels/795a449bc926/UnityPlayer3.x.x-win32.zip
It happened at the same time on all 4 computers.
I have tried uninstall with restart and install again, deleting all Unity folders (inc. regedit) and temp folders. I have tried installing the full web player (not just the plugin) using the same steps as described former.
I have used CCleaner throughout the process also.
I don’t have all the details about the network as it is a big shopping mall, but they have opened a rule for “*.unity3d.com” in their proxy.
The network manager have checked that all traffic is clear and nothing is blocking unity from speaking with the unity servers.
The computers was stationed at the mall around november and have been working until the first week of april this year. Thats when the “auto-update failed” error came.
The PC has Windows 7 64 bit (Fully updated as of 15/04/13).
I really need some help. Thank you in advance.
