Automated rigging: The Jimmy Rigger

Crazy cool stuff:

Wow now this is a awesome looking product.

July the 15th, less than $250. Not bad.

They said it will ship with only lightwave import and export, which is sort of a downer. Otherwise, it seems to be a wonderful tool.

Where can i pre-order? :o

omg I want this so bad.

It would do much better if it was compatible with more than lightwave…

Well at least LightWave is on the less expensive end of the animation spectrum. This makes me wish I was any good at modeling now that there is a solution for rigging and animating. Now all someone has to do is make a program that lets me imagine a 3d model and it just pop’s on the screen ready to go

haha yeah. Well Blender can import lightwave scenes so I suppose you can import the lightwave scene into blender and then export it to a .fbx and use it in unity.

Wow, impressive… :o
It can save me hours

It looks to good to be true… would like to see some random example meshes thrown in…as opposed to the predefined one! but if it can do what they say it can with no messing Damn its impressive!!

Saw the advanced skeleton mesh, I don’t doubt the power, It’s just the whole exporting crap that I’m worried about, does anyone know if it’s for mac?

Cool. Don’t have lightwave, though :frowning:

i hope we can use ultimate unwrap to read these lightwave files.
Or maybe just import to c4d or oher software without have to buy Lightwave.

Is that really ture? Blender 2.49 on my Mac only imports LWO files, not LWS!

And at this time I did not achieved anyway to export character animations from out Lightwave 9.6 to Unity3D, which really worked!!

Does any one of you Lightwave artists knows a step by step tutorial which explains the workflow to get the goal in Unity 3D?
(How to bake the whole IK/bones animation and export issues with the FBX ecporter versions…and so on >>with LW9.6)

I guess, there are perhaps a lot other users, who want know that…

Any news on this?

Sorry, I’m stupid. I looked over blender again and I made a mistake. I read lightwave (.lwo) and assumed it was a lightwave scene. However, the FBX converter offered for free by autodesk may be of use? I don’t know what formats it can convert, but you could look into it.
