Avatar Mask keeps overriding blend shapes

Hello. My avatar mask keeps overriding blendshapes in the layer despite me unchecking the dam blendshape mesh “body”. I even disabled everything in the mask as a test and it still overrides the blendshapes:

The legs do get properly overriden when I enable them back. But this empty avatar mask should not be touching blend shapes at all. I am not using any blend shape logic or any extra animators. What gives?

I have the exact same problem…
