Avelinora - (Simple Defense Game) - Proof of Concept

Hey everyone,

Here is my latest game I’ve been working on since last Friday. I’ve never made so much progress in so little time, so I’d really appreciate it if you could test it out and leave suggestions, comments, and criticism here.

I call it Avelinora, named after a medieval fantasy land I created several years ago.

General Concept:
You take the role of a nations defense and call down spells on the invading forces. The enemies get progressively more difficult as the game progresses so you have to upgrade your spells to help combat that factor. If a certain amount of enemies escape, you lose the battle.

There is currently only a single map, The Twins. There will be more added after I get the general game logic completed.

The UI is fully functional, but will be improved on at a later time. It should scale with most screen sizes.

I’ve gone for a stylized art style with flat shading. This also helps keep me focused on programming rather than getting caught up with art.

You can test the game here: https://db.tt/Zagne5sS

Pics or it didn’t happen:

Now on IndieDB! More pictures available here:

Release set at end of March!

Anyone have any feedback? It would help me a lot! Please be advised that what you see is only five days of work.

I will track your game keep it up

It’s hard to say anything about the game so early in development but so far it looks promising. At lease for me. What are the planned release platforms?

Cheers

I tried it and I think that you should add a button or a key to slow up/down the game (I know that you can modify it in the menu but isn’t friendly). About the game, it would be cool add some summon creature spells. These creatures could be static (it’s easier to implement than dynamic), with a lifetime and they only would attack to adjacent enemies (or not, if it’s a ranged one).
