Yes, I just got the same warning after installing 4.3. I guess/hope it’s a false positive?
ZoneAlarm does not give any warning, scans a clean.
Same here. For now I won’t use Unity 4.3 and wait for confirmation that this is really false positive.
I have the same problem…
I found something in a Thread on the AVG page:
So probably AVG is thinking Unity is a virus although it isn’t, bacause Unity does evil things in the background…
I just got that too! I’ll trust Unity for now, but if they got infected and are spreading a virus worldwide I’ll get very very mad LOL
Just got the same as well… Going to Ignore it I think…
Same problem here. I have reported the issue to AVG (on http://www.avg.com/us-en/false-detection) with the files, so they can have at look at it.
There is no option to ignore, just remove a single threat or all of them.
To get around this, I believe that you need to set an exception for the unity editor.
Open AVG, click Computer, click “settings” in the left panel, then in the list you will see exceptions ( near the bottom )
Select Folder for the exception type, then navigate to Program Files (x86)\Unity\Editor , and select ok ( leave default selected for resident shield and computer scans ).
This should remove any further concerns, but hopefully unity can do a heads up with avg as I hate setting exceptions for stuff…
Just did a test on http://virusscan.jotti.org/ and most virus scanners can’t find any virus, so mine is on the exception list now.
Works perfectly, thanks !

AVG is truely aweful, thats where your problem lies.
Using AVG myself, but it’s indeed very trigger-happy on dropping virus alerts on files…
In general, haven’t scanned since upgrading to 4.3 and now that I know this, I’ll wait a bit longer for AVG to update the datafiles ![]()
Same issue with Kaspersky Pure 3.0
