Hey, nice grounds for a game idea. If I may I have a few crits!
You’re in for a nice start, I think your game is heading somewhere, but you should polish it a little, i think!
For example, what is the motivation for the player to follow the evil magician?
If you’re not going to reveal how the trick is actually done, for what purpose would you catch him doing real-life tricks?
Think about it! Wouldn’t it be a much better idea to reward the player by letting him know how each magic tricks is done after every stage?
If the magician is so evil, why does he only perform harmless table tricks? Shouldn’t he be slaughtering innocent chickens with his fire magic?
dont get me wrong i love magic tricks but sleigh of hand is an real-time event between the magician and the observer, I think this would somehow disconnected the game, magician and the audience.
Training Game
For capturing the wizard or finding items such as wizards hat + wand + cape you receive a video of how certain tricks are done that might feel less disconnected.
The game is pretty much good magician (gb) vs bad magician (bg). The bad magician has been selling the gb’s tricks. The gb wants revenge. The gb can use his own magic throughout the game and there would be some stages where you need to fight using your skills.
The magician isn’t doing the table magic for fights but throughout the game you will see him teaching these tricks to his minions/ followers
What I have decided to do is. During the game you travel to different countries and with each new country you go to you unlock a magic trick that you can learn at home. In china you would learn the chinese linking rings.
