Awesome Rocket Battles [WIP]

Hi,

Thought I’d link up a video of what I’m working on at the moment. I’ve shown this video a few times on other forums and the like already, but it’s being developed with unity pro, so it makes sense to show it on here!

There’s no sound on the video, as it hasn’t been implemented as of yet. We’re in the middle of licensing music and sfx for the game!

The game itself is an arena deathmatch/cave-flier game, where you select various ships/weapons/equipment in order to win battles against human or AI opponents. There’s support for AI (up to 6 players), split screen (up to 6 players - 4 split screen and 2 AIs) and up to 6 players over LAN/Internet.

There’s also a racing mode planned as a single-player tournament, for which more details will be released shortly (once we have prototyped it a bit further and decide it adds something worth having to the game).

We have a development blog up ( http://www.noeyedeergames.com ), and hopefully will be putting up a full website soon!

NoEyeDeer games is a small indie developer start-up, comprising 3 developers, working hard to try and make our first game a commercial success of some sort using Unity! The game will be released on PC/Mac - hopefully if all goes well sometime later this year. A fair ammount of the artwork is still first pass (that HUD for example), but over-all we’re trying to show that even as a small indie dev with next to no budget, it’s still possible to create something that looks and feels professional with the right knowledge and the right tools

Any thoughts/comments/suggestions/criticism is welcome!

I really like it and I want to play it. It reminds me of a cross between a top-down Warhawk and Pixel-junk Shooter. I’m going to subscribe to your blog, because I really can’t wait to see what else you do with this game idea of yours.

Best of luck!

This actually does look awesome. Needs more bouncy things though

Thanks guys! Hopefully it’ll be as awesome as the name implies that it should be!

We’ll be releasing some more dev videos onto our blog showing off various features and bits of gameplay, so watch out for those!
