Backport Request to 2022.3: IN-78360

Hello,

I requested this in the internal bug tracker as well but did not get any response - is it possible to backport the fix for IN-78360 to 2022.3?

I see it’s been fixed in 6000.0.11 with this patchnote:

  • Asset Bundles: Improved performance of AssetBundle.UnloadAsync. In certain large bundles with many scenes, the async unloading could take an excessively long time.

We’re working on an open-world game with many scenes so this has been quite an issue to deal with and we would love to have it on the current LTS.

Hey Martin,

I’ll reach out to the team and see what we can do. Sometimes AssetBundle bugs are a challenge to backport where they modify the underlying data format, but we’ll see if that’s the case here.

EDIT: No promises, but we’re seeing if we can make it happen!

We’ve just landed the backport in 2022’s trunk. You should see it land over the next couple of 2022 patch releases, potentially 2022.3.50f1.
