I’ve got a huge problem… So i didn’t work on my game for months and months now, i was collecting some 3D models for the first map of the game. I got bored of the testing room, and i wanted to give the game a nice little town to test in. So i was collecting and working on the little town for about 6 months now. I’ve finally made it, the town is complete, but wow, i cannot run it, it’s too much for my PC to run… Even lags in editor, the hihrarchy is full of stuff, there’s so many details, buildings… They all have LOD systems, and ocollision culling system aswell, i’ve set it up… I’ve cleared my lighting baking, and i’ve disabled all the options for lighting, in a hope that would fix a lag, but nope… When i run the game, i get 30-40 FPS, but when i turn the camera to the town where there’s tons of buildings, it just starts to freeze, and then unity crashes saying that it doesen’t have enough RAM memory…
My PC specifications (I know, really really LOW END):
RAM - 3 GB DDR2
Graphic card - ATI Radeon HD 4350 512 MB - very slow card
Processor - Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz
yeah i know my PC is weak, but come on, there’s so many games with towns like theese, even with better graphics and my PC can run them, why is unity making it hard for my PC ? What did i do wrong ? What to do to optimize it, isn’t freaking LOD system and ocollision culling enough ?
