Baked shadows - way too faint

Okay, I’m trying to add shadows to my level since I don’t have Pro, and I’m using Maya to generate the light maps.
Here’s my problem: I displayed the objects with the maps in a scene in both Maya and Unity, using only the light maps and the single d-light I used, matching its direction as best I could and matching the intensity as best I could (1.0 in Unity = 2.0 in Maya?) and the shadows are a good deal more subtle (or faint, or less visible, if you will) in Unity.

I’m using 4.0, with the textures set to Lightmap in the importer and added through the LIghtmapping window. The objects all use the default Diffuse material. Same thing in Maya with the incandescence channel set to the lightmap.

Here’s an image to illustrate the problem. Left is Unity, middle is Maya with the lightmaps. The right is unrelated.

Any help is appreciated

Why don’t you just do that in Unity? You don’t need Pro.

Well, that was nice to know. I saw the bake option worked but I guess I just assumed that because it couldn’t display shadows that baking would only bake shading and not actual shadows, but obviously I was wrong.

I tried a bake of everything on my actual level and it ran for 6-8 hours or so before eating up all my RAM and running into a fatal error… but I managed to redo it with slightly lower settings and it looks pretty good.

Thanks for the quick response, now I can move onto the bigger fish!
