Hi everyone,
I must say I’m not an expert on 3D Max, let alone animations done with it. All the experience I have with the package is with static meshes.
So here’s the problem. I friend of mine sent me some models in .max format made with Character Studio that he uses in a game of his, but I’ve been unable to import it successfully in Unity. I don’t think it’s with the animation method my friend used but a problem with the way the animation itself is done, because I get a couple of warnings when exporting, one of them being something like “A negative scaling of node X might result in an unwanted motion.”. And yes, in Unity the model does some weird motion.
So as redoing the animation is not an option, what are my options? I don’t about “baking” the animation and exporting as vertex animation, does anyone know if that’s possible with the 3dmax-FBX combo?
Thanks in advance!
