Ball bounce slow down/damp when collide with object

I’m making a (3D) tennis game, and I want the ball to slow down/damp when touching the net. Right now it’s bouncing off the net, which is a 3D cube, like it’s the floor.

I tried applying a physics material to the net with all kinds of settings tested, but nothing seems to change how the ball bounces off of the net. I also applied a rigidbody to the net, which didnt do anything aswell. Any ideas?

you also need a collider of course and make sure that you freeze all rotations and positions of the net in the rigidbody inspector window
