Battle Mech PBR

Hello. Im new to asset store, so any advice on this 3D model would be appreciated. Is the price good? Is the model good? What you think should be added, etc. Thank you. Unity Asset Store - The Best Assets for Game Making

Looks fantastic. I would definitely use that in a game (and I might!). The price seems almost too cheap, but I know there’s a ton of competition on the asset store, so it may well be appropriate. Anyway, I love the design, the clean modeling and UV’s, and great PBR texturing. I love the red lights too.

The walking animation maybe seems a little stiff and the stride seems a bit short, but it’s tough to gauge without seeing it actually walk in an environment.

One tiny detail would be to maybe leave off the serial numbers. Not that many players would notice or care, but it could be funky to have an army of those all with the same serial number.

Thank you for your kind words, glad you like it. Actually i provided one color map without any decals and without serial numbers. Everything is written in description. And there is possibility to add custom decals on color map with ease, cause i have color map in PSD file with decals on separate layers… I was stupid to not have known before that it is possible to add PSD files in Unity pack. So i will wait if i will do some major update to include PSD as well in the asset. In the meantime i wrote in description so people can contact me if they need custom decals, i can send it to them… And the price is low cause there are no animations. I’m still learning animations, getting close to it, so my next asset will have plenty. But for this one i didn’t made. Maybe i will make update with animations one day if i see people are interested in my mech and actually buy it :).

Ah, that’s perfect then.

Oh, I missed that. Yeah, I can see the lower price then.

I don’t know all that much about IK (inverse kinematics), but a while back I bought an asset called Final IK that’s supposed to help with that a ton. I wonder if that would be a better way to handle the animation rather than having baked-in animations anyway. Like this spider-bot walking on terrain:

I might buy the mech just for an excuse to play around with IK.

Let me know if you buy the mech and if you will need some help with it (or custom decals)… That spider is awesome

Model and textures are top shelf! Well done.
Excluding animations is limiting your audience. Since you include the fbx people can still animate it if desired, but usually people who are looking to get a character in the asset store are not animators. And FK animating something like this gets tedious, so people will most likely export the fbx to any animation package to setup IK controls.

Would suggest putting out 3-4 other models in a similar style as this. Then you could create a group pack with them also, for those who want to purchase all the like models.

But consider adding animations. Robots are easy, linear and stiff - difficult animations are organic stuff, trying to make them look less robotic and/or floaty.

I added 15 animations and 3 new skins to mech. It is now updated in asset store. Check them out in video:
