Battle.net style user persistency

So, I have a fully networked RTS pretty much finished, and I’m now looking in to how I can create something like Battle.net. The idea is that it would hook in to your facebook account, and save your ranking, so as to make good multiplayer matchups, then after the game it would change your ranking based on victories and losses. This seems like it would fit in as a replacement for the master server, that I would have to run myself, and that it would have to be custom coded. So my questions are pretty basic. What programming languages should I learn to create something like this, and more specifically, is there a way to modify Unity Master Server code and then where would I go to rent/buy a server capable of running the custom Unity Master Server code for a good bulk of clients? I guess thats a lot to ask, so don’t hesitate to post if you can only answer one of those questions. Thanks guys!

battlenet, if you cut the chat part, is nothing else than untiy master server with 2-3 different game types (for the different ranked + custom) where the asset server would be expanded with account handling and db lookup of stats.

pretty straight forward and “trivial” from that point of view.

How would I go about implementing a system like that? I haven’t yet seen a copy of the master server code available to the public.

the code is available on the website but it won’t cut it as the part with “retrieving and passing back” is impossible.

but you can do the persistent aspect through a php to database layer as well and request the informations for example

Thanks! I found it, and I’m working on the PHP layer. Much appreciated.
