Hi folks, thought I’d share what we’ve been up to with Unity for the better part of this year. The following is the first footage we’ve released for our upcoming iOS title “Battleheart”.

How did you do the line action move thingy…is by line renderer??

No line renderer involved, it’s achieved the same way as everything else - textured planes and bones.

Your games are progressing a similar path sidescrolling fighting games did back on the NES, from pure 2D to 2D with some depth shifting. Like that
I hope the power of the newer devices like ipad and iPhone 4 will allow that to get at some point blowing apart skeletons upon those massive spells

Is that 2d sprites or 3d that looks 2d?
VERY NICE! If I had an iPod or w.e it plays on I’d be purchasing it upon release! :P. Keep up the good work!
Unity doesn’t really have support for “sprites” in the traditional sense. It’s 2d drawings, ripped into pieces and mapped onto 3d, bone-driven polygonal models.

what the… man that’s so cool I’m very jealous of your art skills!
I’m trying to do 2D art at the moment, decent 2D is much harder than it looks!
are you using transparencies or are you mapping it straight to shaped polygons?
EDIT:
i was also wondering during the game design process if you ever discussed having player portraits on the side of the screen (maybe iPad only) for quick selection of party members when two are standing on top of each other. so far i’ve only died when players get stacked up on top of each other and i can’t target the right one for healing/protection/escape!
also, was a click-hold radial menu for abilities ever discussed?
