I’m trying to lightmap a rather large and dense scene with Beast. I’m planning on just lightmapping the large objects and let real time lighting take care of the smaller more detailed objects with the dual lightmap feature. But I’m running into a problem. I’ve set all of the objects that I want to be lightmapped to “Static” and made sure that I didn’t have any non-mesh renderer’s set to static (read that it may cut down on the initial “thinking” time?). I disabled all GI bounces and left AO set to 0, as well as set the resolution to low and the texels to 25 (tried 50 at first then moved down after failure). From what I can tell it took Beast about 45 minutes to actually start up (meaning that I press “Bake” and unity basically lags for said amount of time). Then about 20 minutes into the beginning baking process (Creating Temp Shapes, Building ADS Structure ect…) it will get to Importing ADS Structure and “thebeast.exe” will just end. No errors in Unity3d, no lightmaps created and I have no idea what to do. D:
If anyone needs any info to try and help me troubleshoot this please ask! I’ll be checking this often.
