Beast Lightmap Question

I would like some lights to only affect certain objects. I can handle this with the light culling mask and tell it to ignore certain objects of certain layers. Beast does not seem to care about this and even if a light is not supposed to affect a certain object, when the lightmap is generated, it uses all the lights even if they are not supposed to affect certain objects anyway.

bump

Light culling is currently not recognized by Beast. Try and work around it by setting certain lights to real-time only. This is admittedly an annoying limitation that will hopefully be fixed in the not too distant future.

Okay no problem, now I know!

Ressurecting this thread, as it’s been a little while and I think it’s still relevant.

Thanks!

I agree, but it’s still not possible. I’ll bring it up with the right devs here again (I already have in the past), but really we need the Beast guys to implement this on their end.

I ressurect it too

Beast dev answer to you to develop this functionnality ? Or not.

On their Beast forums they don’t seem really receptive on Unity Beast problems :/. This was really annoying cause I try to do a full integrated pipeline to bake all lightmaps automatically for an entire game but Beast.exe is like a black box without window to see what happen in the box é_è.

Sadly for us
