Couldn’t this be a toggle in the render feature? Like toggle which effects you want to use? It might work more reliably there.
Would also make for easier mobile optimization.
Yes, we plan to introduce some changes in this area in next update. The benefit of having that option in the volume is that the “automatic strip unused features” will do all the work for you based on what you enable in the volume profile. However this option can’t be used in multiple profiles, which can cause issues/conflicts hence it’s better to move it to a centralized way like you say.
Yeah, the thing is if you have something like certain render textures or mobile platform you might use an effect everywhere but know you don’t want it on the mobile version (like dof).
So, there’s a lot of benefits to having it be more manual.
