I used to do this in the animation community awhile back, but what we did was post our very first animations and then the latest animation. It shows how much you have improved and shows that anything is possible. I want to do this for Unity people. Post your very first model, script, level, etc. and then post your latest work in that category.
Don’t be defensive without good cause, it makes you look like a temperamental ass. It looked to be a compliment for being well ahead of expectations for most 13 year olds.
As an aside, large pictures aren’t good for forums, it forces the browser into supporting a much wider view than most people use and then text goes off the screen in an awkward manner forcing users to pan left and right.
Anyway, I wish I could have done that at thirteen, even if these tools had been in my hands at thirteen I probably wouldn’t have done anything. Keep at it, you’ll be scary good when you’re done school.
Nothing bad lad. I think you have alot of spunk. I checked your website and think you have a good future ahead of you to be so entreprenurial at such a young age. Check your FAQ for a mis-spelling. Just wanted to be clear on your age so as to frame my words in the proper context. Keep at it. I also liked your cogent and loaded with truth reply to Taumel (post #555 of yours…heh) …who is much older than you and way more immature. You have a future. I was drawing and scripting my own Spiderman and Daredevil comics at your age…many, many moons ago. I also think youngsters need encouragement to pursue worthy goals with all the subcultural rat traps laid out like a bloody mine field waiting to ensnare the youth of today. Rock on junior!
Hey…You deserve some kudos for your age. A few adults gave me props for my artwork at a young age and it ended up putting bread and butter on the table for 3 decades and had me working for some of the top names on the planet over that career. As to Taumel…The Beta 3 thread…he was flamebaiting and you told him what life was really about.
I just ran through a bunch of renders that were not in EXR format and there is not a comparison appropriate for this thread. I used to model in Infini-D, which was around when you were not yet conceived. Those would have been good as you had no beveling and could basically only loft and extrude or lathe splines. Frustrating but I was pumping out industrial design with them. I switched to Cinema 4D at version 7 and have about 4500 scene files on an HD whose directory got screwed when lightning struck during a write. I have another 3000+ on my current drives…most of which are being put to use in our “big” game and their Mission Modules. I have also been rendering as exr for years now so though I have lots of cool renders only a few are jpegs… I liked this one
