Being Charged VAT Tax on Unity Asset Store Purchases in North America

I was wondering why I was being charged VAT tax on Unity Asset Store purchases I make when I’m located in North America? Has this been the case for everyone else, or is this a mistake?

@Ben-BearFish - Are you using an out-of-country VPN? I have no idea if this makes a difference, but it’s a thought.

I bumped it because the sale is ending soon, and I wanted to hopefully get an answer before then, otherwise I wasn’t going to make my purchases. Also, no I’m not using a VPN.

So I had some other people I know check this, and it seems that just is the new standard for the Asset Store. Is there a justification or reason why Unity now charges non-European countries VAT tax now?
