Hi all
I should probably start out by saying that im a uni student and dont have a lot of money. I was thinking of picking up a 2d toolkit for unity (especially now that i have the android license but I only have unity free/indie) but am unsure of which would be the best.
I’ve been looking at '2D toolkit" and “ex2D”, I’m really eyeing 2D toolkit as it seems to be a little better but i was hoping to hear some other opinions (mainly in terms of how polished they are, features [especially collision], ect), any input would be nice but if you are going to recommend another toolkit, keep in mind I am not exactly rich.
I’ve researched this and ended up buying ex2d when it was recently on sale for $15.
I’d say 2d toolkit is probably a little better and more polished, but I am not sure if it is $30 better. It comes down to what you are likely to need more:
ex2d - better if you want to set up lots of animations as it has a far superior animation editor.
2d Toolkit - better if you want to make accurate collision within the tool, or want the ability to automatically slice up your background images.
