We are investigating an implementation of our advertising SDK for Unity. We currently have an iOS and Android SDK and saw that many other ad networks have a wrapper/plugin for Unity. Before going down that route, we wanted to ask the Unity community what their experience has been with integrating ad network SDKs. Who has the best/easiest implementation and what do you recommend to us? In the end, we want to cater to the Unity community and make the integration as efficient as possible.

I have only used the mobclix and adwhirl plugin. They are easy to use because they have prefabs that I just drop into my scene and ads start popping up. I get to specify if the ad is on the top, middle, bottom, or somewhere custom on the screen.
I am looking into integrating Tapjoy into my games because they have a unity plugin. It is very encouraging to use an advertising solution when all the hard work of communicating to an SDK is already taken care of.
I may be biased on this, as I am mainly a PC developer, however I believe there are TONS of services for advertising on iOS and Android. What would be nice to see for a change is one for PC/Webplayer. I have been unable to find a good one as of yet. On the other hand, the webplayer market is just now starting to grow, so I don’t know if it’s all that much worth it yet.
Thanks for the feedback. We are investigating a PC based Flash plugin because its so prevalent. To your point, we may want to see more penetration on the PC side for Unity. If you have any insights on the growth of developers using Unity for web, we would love to hear about it.
Sohan from InMobi here with a shameless plug. A tad late to this thread but i’m hoping it can be used for future reference
InMobi have just launched their new plugin for Unity. It comes with custom ad formats and built-in with analytics as well. Plus the integration is very simple! You guys should check it out: InMobi Support Center for Advertisers and Publishers
