Best antivirus which works well alongside Unity3d?

Hi guys,

Since I have installed McAfee Internet Security on my computer Unity starts to give me “Internal compiler errors”. There is no “exclude folder from scanning” option so yeah…

Do you use an antivirus which is both safe and doesn’t conflict with Unity!

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, I would think McAfee would have some kind of exclusion system of sorts, but I don’t use it so I could of course be wrong about that.

I currently use Avast(Free). It has never given me any conflicts with Unity, though I haven’t used Unity all that much.

I’ve been using Microsoft Security Essentials. It has an exclusion option in the settings.

This is what I have been using for a few years now and I have yet to have it say anything about Unity at all without excluding anything.

Hey, it must be true - I’ve had a Mac for four years now, and none of my PCs have had a virus in that whole time!

When I used the Windows machine, it was always AVG.

AVG

You have to really, really, really inept to get malware on a Mac. You have to just be inept to get malware on Winders.

d’oh! Fell for necro-spam.

If you’re on Windows 8, you don’t really need one. I installed Microsoft Security Essentials (my go-to) and Windows said the built-in one is already better. So I don’t use one on my laptop

After several hours of searching I finally installed Avast antivirus. Some people complain that it’s too noisy because of notifications. But after some digging inside of settings I was able to disable all kinds of sounds and notifications with their so called “Silent Mode” pretty useful.
And last but not least the basic version is enough for me so I don’t need to pay for it, only register! :stuck_out_tongue:

I am currently Using ESET NOD32 and i am having no problems with it at all, and I also use avast, it’s also a good antivirus. So i you can use any of these two, these wont ever interfere with unity

AVG free - never a problem

OMG thank you!! :stuck_out_tongue:
