Best hardware configuration

What is the best performance hardware configuration for a Unity developed game? The game will be hosted at a tradeshow on laptops specified by us.

The game is a first person race with high quality models and animations controlled by a Wii Remote.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Here is the one I'm considering - this will be used to play the game so I'm attempting to maximize the performance.

specs: Sager NP8120

  • Dual nVIDIA GeForce GTX 285M with 1GB GDDR3
  • 18.4" (16:9) Full HD (1920x1080) TFT LCD
  • Intel Core i7
  • Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit
  • 6GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz

See anything that is unneeded for max performance or can be improved?

There's nothing special about Unity as far as hardware requirements go. Get the best specs you can find.

it depends on your game. test it with different systems and choose one that suits your needs. try to optimize your game with the profiler as much as you can.

Are you going to be making an AAA game title with ultra graphics and stuff? Then get the best you possibly can. But quite frankly I had a crappy single core computer 2.0GHZ and 32mb video ram that ran unity just fine. There are not really any required specs.

I would also consider that your players may not have top of the line systems, be wary of building a game so high-end that few can play it.
