I was watching this video, and I was wondering what he was using to record. When it comes to showing off updates and gameplay, it would be very good to have a high framerate and quality. So what screen recorder do you recommend? I don’t mind the price.
it is not free but the best screen recorder for the mac I have found it http://www.telestream.net/screen-flow/overview.htm
I use iShowU HD for all my tutorial recordings. I then dump the vids into iMovie to edit.
Think it’s about $29.95.

Matt.
Quicktime can do it for free, but it doesn’t really have any options. Screenflick is $25 and works well.

I have screenflow and iShowU pro, both are good. I like the options in screenflow, but it does seem to bog the system down as it’s recording. I know a lot of people use IShowU, I haven’t really played with it enough to get a good feel for it’s capabilities. I know I had more problems with getting IShowU to export a resonable sized file for youtube… but then I haven’t invested enough time to say the problem wasn’t me ![]()

I’ve been using Open Broadcaster Studio (win / mac / linux). It’s free and open source and pretty good. For Windows users I recommend OBS classic, because it’s easier to crop your recording window in classic version.
I use the built in screen recorder and check the date of a thread and report them when they are revived after FIVE YEARS.
I use this aswell! Would highly recommend it! They also offer a free trial to test it out before buying (But all exported video has a huge watermark across the middle of the screen).
Simply put - quicktime + soundflower
which screen recorder or other software will show an overlay of key/mouse button inputs?
Not tried but maybe
