Best places to find freelance Unity3d Developers

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to ask if anyone has any recommendations for platforms or any means to find good freelance Unity3d Developers. I have a small/medium scale project I want to advertise.

I already use freelancer.com for a lot of my auxiliary digital marketing stuff, but my experience is that finding good workers/talent is getting a bit thin there.

Any experiences or suggestions regarding where you take on freelance work, or advertise for the same would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest to ask @neginfinity or @Kiwasi if they’d be interested. I’m sure we have other capable freelancers here as well, but I’m not good at remembering names.

Honestly I wouldn’t bother with any portals or sub forums. I’d rather do my own research and ask someone, who is well known around here, than sift through possibly hundreds of applications where most of them will be crap and some will even straight up try to scam you.

I’m not entirely sure what this has to do with that rant about money. I had found a developer on freelancer.com who did freelance stuff on the side of working for ASPYR - but not just once - twice he vanished and prioritised other projects… so, keen to find an online community of unity3d devs to help - for money. :slight_smile: (just spotted the jobs forum area at the bottom of the forums!)

The part about people taking money and running… but yeah good luck. Hopefully you’ll find someone to work with. I just deleted my mini rant. lol Here is a response you may find more useful: @Kiwasi has helped me in the past and was very good to work with.

I currently am available for part time free lancing. A little more wary about taking internet jobs then I used to be, a recent job I was on simply faded away into the night without paying for any work. But PM me if you are interested and we can work something out.

Ha ha! I do try not to do that but you know when I come in here to the forums I am not in a super technical all business type of mode. So I tend to “just talk” kind of like I would with some friends I guess. There are only a few things that really irk me in this life and it’s easy to do a mini rant here or there when something reminds me of them. Anyway, sorry about that. :slight_smile:

feelsickened? LMAO, I really hope not.

I won 2nd place in an advertising competition in ancient times of high school in the regionals and competed in the state competition. I lost at the state, you should have heard me heart thumping when they were announcing the winners.

If it’s not a big song & dance I could probably pull something reasonable together for you.

I got a little cocky. It was big enough that my tax department would have noticed it. But small enough that it’s not worth attempting legal recourse across international borders.

No details, I probably shouldn’t have shared what I have so far. I’m not overly interested in dragging anyone through the mud. Revealing further details would be in violation of NDAs and the like. And no matter what the client does I have no interest in explicitly breaking my side contract.

Simply take it as a cautionary tale that freelancers have to be just as careful as employers when it comes to international work.
