Best way to capture video of gameplay on Mac?

I am finishing up a game in about a month and I want to make a demo video to put on Youtube. I want it to of course be as smooth as possible and be able to voice-over the video as I’m playing to explain what’s going on.

What’s the best way I can do this and get a good frame rate etc?

Thanks!

Quicktime player has a video capture feature.

It allows you to easily caputre the full screen or just a window. Once you are done you can take the video into iMovie and edit it.

Screen flow I would say is the best out there, It records with no FPS lag and the project files (unless they go over 2 hours) are reasonably small for when it records at 1080p, I haven’t figured out a way for it to not record in Full HD 1080p yet but I’ll keep you posted on that

I personally use iShowU. The only other thing it requires is the free Soundflower plugin for recording system audio; otherwise, audio input is limited to microphones.
