Best way to display scores appearance

I’m making a racing game. When NPCcar is pass from my player, GUITexture score with animation will appear. I have studied that by keep generating gameObject, which is

Instantiate(Resources.Load("10Point_GUI"));

is expensive, and yes it is noticable lag.
So I use gameObject.active = false/true is also making my game obviously lags when roads and NPCs are keep translating their positions, especially in iPod Touch 4th gen, but not in iPhone 4s and above. Any idea to solve this problem? Please advice, thank you very much.
