[Beta] AVPro Broadcast (for DeckLink video hardware)

Hey all,

We are working on a new plugin for Unity that adds support for broadcast level I/O hardware (Blackmagic Decklink cards, AJA cards).

We’re looking for your comments about how you would like the plugins to work, features you want supported, hardware targets, etc - this is the place to tell us about it

If you would like to beta test the plugin email unitybeta-broadcast@renderheads.com

Thanks,

That’s a great news.
I understand (not tested) that the BMD’s Decklink protocol is the same with BMD’s Intensity/Intensity Extreme.
Could be the same development string, shooting two rabbits with one bullet.

Mac users with external BMD hardware (Intensity/Intensity Extreme) would loooooove this
Having a good quality video in Unity opens up loads of doors for the use of Unity in the interactive field.

Yup, that’s the plan

Great! We’re actually looking for that!

We would like to use this to overlay graphics on top of video, so either by capturing video, overlaying the graphics and outputting it again (but that takes additional performance and, above all, delay) or by using the overlay function of the board.

Currently we’re using Blackmagic Decklink boards (Decklink HD Extreme 3D, Decklink Duo and Decklink 4 Pro) and AJA boards (Kona 3/Xena 2Ke). We would like to able to use any supported video format of the boards, so PAL/NTSC up to 4K and progressive/interlaced.

One very useful feature would be to output alpha to the Decklink and AJA cards. This would allow use of external video keyers to overlay graphics atop live video, for example.

Just to conclude this thread, the plugin was launched and renamed to AVPro DeckLink. Thanks,
