Hey, all,
Another problem…
My current game is 3GS+ only. It’s pretty processor and fill-rate heavy, but it generally runs fine.
Problem is that about one in 5 or 6 times, it will crash so badly that it actually resets the device! This is particularly bad as there is no crash-log when this happens, so I have no idea how to fix it…
Anyone else seen anything like this? Any ideas on how it could be fixed?
Do Unity give support for issues like this? The game doesn’t use any Objective C plugins or anything, so surely causing a hard crash like this should be nigh on impossible from within the managed code of Unity?
Cheers,
SB
Same problem here, but on iPad. http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/67156-iOS-iPad-Crash-Reboot
This is obviously fairly serious - can we have some response from someone at UNITY?
We will certainly try to help in cases like this but it is difficult to know what to suggest without more information. Does the crash happen during a particular stage of the game (when a certain object appears, say) or after roughly the same time after the start or immediately on launch? Can you give any more detail about what type of game it is or what assets it uses?
All seems to be tied in with visual effects, Andeeee - as mentioned in email.
Watching this thread with the greatest of interest, since I’m experiencing the same problem (I started the thread linked above).
O.O
