Two computers are having the same problems (one Mac, one Windows):
After connecting to the asset server, you see all active projects.
The project is selected, but committing and updating doesn’t work anymore.
Unity keeps mentioning that ‘there is no connection’.
However, the history is still being updated.
tried re-activating
tried restarting computer
tried re-installing Unity
tried making empty project and connecting from there
tried new username to connect
… nothing worked.
This is a huge problem as cooperation is getting more and more difficult in time critical projects.
Question:
Where on Windows and Mac, can we find the basic settings/prefs file for Unity?
We’d love to try and remove these to see if “resetting” this works.
i seem to be having a very similar problem to this one. did you find a solution for it? unity doesn’t say anything abt there being no connection but everytime i go back to the connection screen it doesn’t show anything.
Yeah reinstalling Unity does not help here, it’s a bugged Unity settings file.
I fixed this by deleting my Unity windowstyle preferences (Windows registry…saved as plain files on Mac).
Backup before any changes…but I believe it does no harm to delete all entries…
On windows the layouts are plain files too:
C:\Users\USERRRR\AppData\Roaming\Unity\Editor-3.x\Preferences\Layouts
i have tried deleting what i could find in the preferences folder and altho it resets a lot of things. fx i get the unity startup tip thing and it clears the projects list, the layout i had still remains as well as the login info for the asset server so i guess i’m still not deleting all of them…
what i deleted was all the com.unity3d.UnityEditor files
i have the same problem as this now… 2 years late. I’m on Lion and unity 3.5.2. though and those prefs don’t exist anymore it seems. Any idea where I can find them now?
