Does Unity Iphone or Unity for that matter support any script function or support any use of playing a bink video. (.bik) these videos can greatly compress any video size, games such as overlord, overlord 2, borderlands and the elder scrolls 4 oblivion use bink. But I am just wondering if unity will support it. Any help would be appreciated.
Video playback on the iphone is restricted to the iphone own Media Player and its restrictions. (thats the only hardware accelerated video playback you get on the iphone at all!)
using something else is potentially possible for cpu driven work, but thats up to you including the serious per project licensing fees for corresponding libraries
Thanks for replying. so now that i know it wonβt support .biks can anyone tell me more info about capturing videos, and saving them in the correct format for the iphone to play? :?
you can capture them in whatever format you want and then let quicktime export them in the iphone format (or on osx: about any program osx offers for video offers that including iMovie etc)
