Hey guys - I wanted to show off something me and my team have been working on for nearly a year.
We’ve developed entirely custom vision processing algorithms which can track player body motion using a normal camera. We have also built a Unity3D plugin so you can make a game in Unity and quickly publish to iOS and Android.
If you have an existing tilt/swipe/tap action game there is a good chance you can port it to motion controls right now.
If you take a moment to feel out what the system is capable of I think you’ll find of tons of new ideas.
Our intention is to have a release event next year. Quality titles will be selected for this launch group. Our thinking here is that we don’t want developers to feel pressured to be first to the app store, they should have time to build something great without losing the novelty of being first. This launch will also have a lot of publicity attached to it, so it should give your game a huge boost. After that we’ll open things up.
Until then you can grab a license at www.bitgym.com/developer which allows you to develop and prototype with.
Finally a note on tracking - It’s not skeletal but it does capture the xyzr of the spine of players. Good for detecting leans, jumps, ducks, side steps, dance motions, exercise motions, etc.
