Black screen before splash screen

I’m getting a black screen before the splash screen when deploying builds to iOS (using Unity Pro and a custom splash screen).

I could have sworn that this hasn’t always happened, but to be honest now I can’t be sure! Is this normal behaviour?

Is it the same behavior if you drop your splash screen directly into you Xcode project ?
Remember having this issue a while back and I think that fixed it.

Hmmm all of the splash screens seem to be set up properly in Xcode… Very odd.

Old thread but I am still having this issue with 5.6.3f1. I have setup the launchimages manually in Xcode. A black screen always appears before the launch image appears.

This will be a different issue as the splash screen format changed totally in 5.5. Now there is an animated Splash Screen, with a Launch Screen before that, shown while loading the game. It sounds like your Launch Screen is set to Default. All can be set up in the Splash Image section of the Player settings. You need to set Splash Screen, iPhone Launch Screen, iPad Launch Screen (I use “Image and background (constant size)” for the Launch Screens, but there are multiple options).
