Gamasutra reports Blackberry maker RIM will enter the tablet market with “Playbook” - a seven inch tablet in “early 2011”.
Supporting OpenGLES and powerful enough to support Flash, AIR and Java - it might be an interesting platform for Unity content…
the mobile device that supports flash without dieing has not been invented yet. not even tegra 2 can claim that crown thanks to Adobe Trashs performance and broken implementation.
Adobe already claimed that android 2.2 would do that, yet even high end devices like the galaxy s can’t render 3/4 of the pages usable, the performance drops by 50% and more
and that without considering the fact that pages not opted for mobile are totally useless cause the touch will not work correctly if the flash content wasn’t designed for it.
build to bb…
It would still be nice to use Flash on a certain mobile device. Cough.
I’ve just seen they are using QNX as the OS for the playbook… wow that brings back memories.
Looks like its come a long way though.
