I have for some time now been working on a small project, called Blackout. Blackout is in very early stage of development and is moving forward at a steady pace, I’m only working on this project on my own free time which don’t leave that much time to work on the game.
Blackout is a thriller/puzzle game, which is set in an abandoned hospital divided into different floors (levels). This will lead a corridor style of gameplay with physics based puzzles along the way.
Gameplay:
Blackout is an FPS thriller game which uses the standard WASD keys to move around and the mouse too look around as well as picking up objects which are bound to the laws of physics and will help you through the different levels. Somewhere early in the game you will find a flashlight with limited amount of battery power left and if you look hard enough you will find spare batteries in the different areas.
Game Features:
• First Person Gameplay
• Corridor oriented environment
• Physics based puzzles
• Very dark environment
• Minimal HUD
• Immersive Storyline
These features are just a start, because of the small amount of time I can put into the game I want to start of with the most essential parts of the core gameplay and work my way out from there.
Story:
(WIP)
You wake up in a dark and cold cell with no memory of who you are. You’re all alone, there is no one else to be found. Your mission is to find out who you are and what really happened in the hospital.
State of the game:
As mentioned above the game is in early development and still in the modeling / planning state.
All of the above screenshots are from inside Cinema4D and DOES NOT represent the final game. They are concept sketches.
Please feel free to give some feedback and suggestions.
I’ll keep updating this post with new information about the game, until i can get myself a website.
I agree with Blacklight28, it looks really interesting, will be following this one real close.
As you said you were working on this one alone, if ya need maybe I can help
Thats some damn good modelling. Kind of remindsme of Half-Life (I wonder why ). But way better than I can do, I can barely make some cylenders and a cube XD good job! 8)
Looks like you have some good footwork underway with Blackout, very cool.
Would love to see where this goes myself, and am especially curious as to how the texturing will look with some already kickass modeling.
Question though, is the logo a concept as well, or is that where you are looking to go for the visuals for the logo?
Wasnt too sure what it was behind the words, (is it an eye?) and I (from my perspective) feel Id would have liked to have seen the Blackout logo as like a splatter on the wall or something a little grittier to match the feel of the atmosphere of the game, even if as a test alongside this one.
This one is cool, just wanted to see where you were headed with it.
Just throwin in my thoughts.
well dont want to look like an ass*** but screen actually just show box and cylinder (with some bevel yes i admit ) …which is fine tho for this type of map, but if you can model a box well …you can do that
OK well that was just a “note”…no offense at all for the creator , all the business in that kind of model is texture wise , mood seem coming nice already , wait and see what will come up with texture applied
I know, I just made my own barrel. But the level geomitry. like the trim and stuff. And the position. So it may not be that great, but the mood the scene conveys is AWESOME! lol
