Blender FBX import, mesh warps to cube

When I import my Blender file (Via ‘Import new asset…’ or by saving the .blend file in the assets folder) the mesh of the object reverts to the size of a cube. Currently im importing an ingot (Long Bar shaped thing) and the Mesh is physically compressed to a cube. (Its still got the rough shape, its just been compressed down to a distorted cube…)

Also when I put the gameobject in the scene, after looking at the transform options, the scale has been resized to scale the mesh back into the original shape.

How can I fix this? Is it Blender or Unity causing the problems?

I’m no expert, but I think you need to Apply scale in Blender before exporting.
