Blender import issue: objects copied and at weird angles

I’m just starting out at this … I made my first ever animation in Blender and want to import it to Unity. At first I did an .fbx export and it was invisible. When I import it as a .blend file it works, but my little robot’s arms are dublicated and strewn about, and he gets another head at a 90 degree angle to the original.

Here are the screen shots, inside Blender …

and what happens to the poor guy in Unity.

I’m using Blender version 249.2 and Unity 2.6

Thanks in advance for your help!

Jess

Welcome to the forum!

This is a very common problem, and has been brought up a lot on the forum. A search should have answered it for you (there’s a useful sticky at the top of this section, too), but I’ll point you in the right direction because I like your name.

When you have an armature, every vertex must be weighted to a bone.

Thanks Jessy! If you can believe it I was searching for hours, maybe using the wrong search terms, so I really appreciate the help!! Jess

Hey and thanks for the welcome.

Oh well. That can happen. Let us know if that fixes things for you; I can’t imagine it won’t, because I’ve had this problem with some files myself, which looked like yours, and that fixed things. I’ve also seen many threads over the past few years where it solved the problem for other people. But if you’re still having problems after checking bone weighting, I don’t think I have any suggestions.
