So basically I’m a noob at rigging and all my rigs end up like this…
In Blender, you need to asign all the desired vertex a bone must drive to a vertex group of the mesh with the same name than the bone. Si I would suggest you:
1- unparent the mesh
2- edit the bones names and call them something meaninfull (head, neck, torso, etc.)
3- edit the mesh and delete all the groups with the old bones names (those still with numbers)
4- re-parent the mesh to the skeleton, choosing create groups from bones names.
5- Carefully asign to each group the vertex they need to drive.

Lemme add that the “create from Bone Heat” feature is an amazing new feature and that make you have to weight less. Then you go in and tweak.
