hi,
what do I need to do before exporting a model from blender to unity?
other then UV mapping, cause some of my gun models look terrible in unity, they look really smooth, an unclear.

Sounds like your models are being exported without smoothing groups, so no hard edges?
I don’t know much about blender. If it doesn’t export smoothing groups you can create the edges by hand by splitting the geometry along the edges. Which is pretty much what the renderer does anyway.
You should stick a pic up so people can see what the problem is. But thats my guess anyway.
Oh, nearly forgot, but I believe there are some options in the fbx import mesh component of the unity inspector that let you set a smoothing value. Usually 30 to 45 degrees will do the job.
im not sure what smoothing groups are (still trying to figure out blender)
in the FBX importer there is the smoothing value, but it is the only thing that i cant ajust (its greyed out)?

add the ‘edgesplit’ modifier to the object, then, to your preference, uncheck the ‘from edge angle’ (It works for some objects sometimes, other times it just messes with stuff).
I then go through, select edges I want ‘hard’ and hit ctrl-e, then choose at the bottom ‘mark as sharp’. This will transfer over to unity just fine.
i know every thing about blender and i tail you how to export just drag in drop blend file in unity
(1) open blender open your project or meke one now you could do 3 thing in blender you could export a fbx file or you save as in your unity folder or drag n drop in unity
(2) in unity open new scene go to on you side to project>crate>new folder ok
now go and open blender hold ctrl + o open your project now save as and save it on desk top now take your blend file and drag n drop on unity new folder oh have unity open at some time min mize ok if it do not work
(3)now try this open blender go to file go to save as save it in unity folder let said “test folder”
on to new folder save thir if this don’t work one more you need to know and this hard but it work
(4)open blender open your project go to file go to export fbx and export to unity but thir is a menu you need to know i will post it later ok
