blender unity quick tut please....

aite, so b4 anyone flames im always in favour of researching the stuff…but this would be very useful to everyone.

so please someone who is already using these tools together, if u can help me…

im at a stage where i have modeled, textured a character.

at the stage of rigging, and im getting jitters…so im resorting to this.

in max i know ure supposed to turn all the ik stuff to fk after animating.

what happens with blender ?

should i rig the model with ik or go with fk ?

what steps are needed for an ik animation to work with unity.
(and how do u do it)

im a noob with blender and since the ui has changed,i cant seem to find anything the tutorials mention…

lil pointers for rigging–ik or fk? or anyother stuff to be aware of

some tips on the action, nla— i have no idea how to use this

if some one can give a VERY quick tut to create a simple walk cycle with blender 2.5 for unity…it perhaps would be mean a lot to the community and me…

You might experience some problems with Unity and Blender 2.5. I was, and could only get Blender 2.49 to work. Anyway, I’ll try to make a tutorial for a simple walk cycle for Blender 2.5 for you. I’ll post it later.

Edit: Oh yeah, also with Blender you have to UV map your guy in order to get the texture to show up.

I use IK chains in my unity rigs. they work fine. Never actually had any difficulty with unity and blender (which rather surprises me). Using blender 2.49b.

Oh… Wait, did you want a tutorial on just animating a character and importing the guy and his animation into blender, or on using IK and stuff for animations?

hey thanks guys…i was so petrified i dint know what to do but ask for help here, but then i thought i should jump into it,so i did n i figured it out…yup i found out it works fine…i had iks on legs and no issues…but u guys tried to help so thank you.
anyway… i guess a tut wouldnt go waste…so if u did start working on it,do post a link here…

to all the other people in fear of using blender with unity…dont worry it works fine…dont panic like i did.

BTW : 2.5 wont work…use 2.49

also a tip : i modelled n textured in 2.5 then opened it in 2.49 to rig n animate…so that way u can use the new ui n tools to quicken ure workflow but still use the .blend with unity.
