Hi All,
Did anyone use it? Does it suitable to import the character with this armature into Unity?
Yes. As it produces too many meshes and other extra stuff, there is a free package in the asset store. Check that one Rigify to Unity.
Thank u for your answer.
Can I use it for mobile devices as well?
Rigify to Unity only helps you to simplify the model’s hierarchy. All that happens in the Unity editor. From there on you may use it for whatever you want. After all it is just a skinned model. I see no reason why it should not work on mobiles.
Thank u for your anser. Accroding to Unity’s doc 30 bones per character is upper limit in order not to “choke” the game, As far as I know Rigify uses way more than 30 bones…
I don’t know the exact number of bones that is supported by Unity. The big advantage of Rigify is, that you may only use the parts you need. E.g. the fingers need a huge amount of bones. You may decide for only to use one bone for them and weight paint all fingers to that single bone. what you are talking about is the meta-rig. You have to see it as a very detailed example. You may easily adjust that one for your needs or start a new rig, that only contains the needed bones.
Forgot to mention that you may have a look at the example model.
Thank u very much for helping me.
The amout on bones recommended by Unity is written herehttp://unity3d.com/support/documentation/Manual/Modeling%20Optimized%20Characters.html
I’ll check it out in a few days…I guess I need to learn more on Rigify.
Thank u …u da best ![]()
