Blending between two reflection probes?

Hi,

i want to blend between to reflection Probes in URP. I tried to fade the intensity from 0 to 1 while the other is fading from 1 to 0. Both got the same Importance Setting (1). Unfortunatly it will reflect just one of the probes, and when i animate the intensity to 0 the refletion stays black while the other Refletion Probe is not showed.

I looked into the Mesh and i found some weight information. But this stays always the same and cant be animated or is there any way to animate this weight value?

Also animating the “importance” value on the refletion probe does not work and i guess this will also just jump between this stages.

I also navigated to the Tier Settings but i cant find something called enable probe fading toggle

Working on Beta 2019.3.12

Maybe someone knows where i can enable or fading between them?
thank you in advance

There is only one reflection probe defined in the URP shaders so there isn’t going to be a way to fade between them. The feature set lists reflection probe blending as “in research” so no guarantee on when/if this feature will be supported.

For now, it may be possible to disable reflection probes entirely on the renderer, write a script that finds the closest two probes for each renderer and assigns them to a custom shader graph that will sample, blend, and add them to the “Emission” channel of the material.

:frowning:

If Unity is going to stick to their word about reaching “feature parity” between the URP and built-in pipelines this (very basic) feature needs to be supported.

how should i do it in built in pipeline?

alright :), just found it automatically does the blending in built-in pipeline based on the probes boundaries if they have the same importance level, if not only changing the boundaries of the more important probe will change the blending. meh
by the way i’m curious were you guys talking about blending Realtime Reflection Probes in URP pipeline or the pipeline doesn’t even blend them when they’re set to Baked? cause i only tested the blending in baked mode

Edit: actually it was silly that i mentioned about the baking results, i think baking process doesn’t have anything to do with the pipeline… anyway, so the Built-In pipeline blends reflection probes at Realtime.
